Composed between 2023 and 2025, Au cours d’une nuit – In a night is an ideal journey between the mountains of Sicily, Piedmont, Val d’Aosta and PACA, into their evenings, nights and early mornings. It is the tale of many walks and stays, of an act of political resistance which starts from taking time, moving, observing and listening to the world around – an act that leads to the awareness of being just a node in a rich net, a human in a non-human world. Ultimately, it is the tale of a possible dialogue and relationship, as well as of the the yearning to dissolve into the otherness encountered, to simply fade away and cease.

All the recordings were made between 2022 and 2025 in mountain wetland areas between 1500m and 3200m, aiming to document both the resilience of the microfauna and ecosystems and the profound changes caused by climate change. They gave birth to a multi-channel and multi-format electroacoustic work of about 41 minutes, which also makes use of synthesised and feedback-based sounds.
The work has been realised thanks to the support of Association APNÉES (Grenoble, FR) and to the ACROE lab of the Grenoble Institute of Technology (INP), who offered me a residency and the opportunity to present a first version of the work.
The last movement of the work, titled “Oubliez-moi sous ces cédres”, was the first to be composed and was awarded the first prize at the international composition competition “Prix Luigi Russolo 2023”.
